Welcome to the Home of the Wallaceburg Griffins!  2009 Intermediate Ontario Finalists Welcome to another exciting year of Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse! With player and executive participation on a steady rise, optimism is at an all time high.Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse boasts seven boys and one girls team. Currently, we are two time defending Bantam B Ontario Provincial Champions! Wallaceburg lacrosse is rich in tradition, scant information is available to detail lacrosse activity in the 1800s but there were Wallaceburg teams during that era. From 1900 to 1915 is the first successful field era with the local team in the provincial finals in 1903. In 1937 the first box with boards was erected on the north side of Steinhoff Park, opposite the present tennis courts or near the north end (Steinhoff) soccer goal posts. From 1937 to 1941 Wallaceburg played in the Michigan-Ontario Box Lacrosse League with Sarnia, Windsor, Essex and Detroit, a strong presence in the structure of our current Zone 7! |
